03. April 2025 International conference on critical submarine infrastructure held in Tallinn

Today 3 April, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs organised an international conference on maritime law and critical submarine infrastructure, with Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs Liisa-Ly Pakosta and Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna formally opening the event.

02. April 2025 Estonia Wins International Arbitration Case Over Seaplane Harbour

An international arbitration tribunal has ruled that Estonia acted lawfully in reclaiming possession of the Seaplane Harbour and has dismissed the damages claim filed by ELA USA Ltd, owned by Aleksander Rotko. ELA initiated the lawsuit in 2018, demanding over 200 million euros in compensation. The company argued that it should have been allowed to continue its timber processing and cargo transport business at the port.

13. March 2025 Government Grants Mandate to Initiate Prison Lease Negotiations

The government's authorization allows the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs to propose negotiations with Sweden and the Netherlands for leasing Estonian prison facilities. These negotiations may or may not result in a formal agreement. The final decision on concluding an international agreement will be made by the Riigikogu (Estonian Parliament).

06. December 2024 Minister Pakosta: we need to enhance Europe's competitiveness

Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs Liisa Pakosta participated in the The TTE Council meeting in Brussels. Pakosta supported the adoption of the Council's conclusions on the cybersecurity agency ENISA and the White Paper ,,How to master Europe’s digital infrastructure needs?”.
