The Corruption Perception Index brings Estonia to a positive high record
In the 2023 corruption perception index published by Transparency International on Tuesday, Estonia achieved the highest result since 2012. Among 180 countries, Estonia shares 12th place with Canada.
Laanet: Europe must focus on nothing but supporting Ukraine in the war
According to Kalle Laanet, Minister of Justice of Estonia, the workload related to the initiatives of the European Commission is currently too much of a burden for countries like Estonia. Today he expressed this to Minister of Justice of Germany, Dr. Marco Buschmann.
Cross-border company migration is becoming safer
At the third reading, the Riigikogu adopted the act on the cross-border merger, division and conversion of companies registered in the European Union. If up until now only the cross-border merger of companies was possible, new possibilities are added in the form of cross-border division and conversion. At the same time, control over cross-border company migration will become stricter and the conditions more specific.
Registration for the international congress ‘Child protection for the most vulnerable children and families’ is now open
Registration for the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) congress in Tallinn on 13–16 June 2022 is now open. The congress focuses on the mental health of children, sexual and other abuse, intimate partner violence, the protection of children in closed institutions, the protection of children whose parents are in prison or have addiction problems, cross-border co-operation, and the use of digital services.

Estonia does not develop AI Judge
As there have been a lot of questions relating the topic of AI Judge, we have to explain that the article about Estonian project of designing a "Robot/Judge" in Wired from 25th of March 2019, is misleading. There hasn`t been that kind of project or even an ambition in Estonian public sector.
FAQ – support calculator and the new minimum support payment procedure
On 1 January, the new formula for calculating support entered into force. The calculator using this formula concerns only those support cases for which there is no previous court decision or notarial agreement on the amount of support. The amounts of support ordered to pay or notarised before 1 January 2022 will not be automatically changed.

This means that the Ministry of Justice will start writing the first draft legislation and legislative intent in the new working workspace.

Estonia has won the rights to host 2022 ISPCAN Congress
17.12.2020. Estonia has won the the right to host the annual  European Congress of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (ISPCAN). The event, which is expected to draw  600 international delegates to the city, will be held in June 2022.
